I started on LJ because a friend had it and I wanted to read her posts. From there it became a place for teenage me to rant and complain and have others give me advice. Then it was a place to connect and make new friends. Now, as an adult, it's a place for me to reconnect with old friends and put my thoughts down somewhere permanent.

Now that my 31 days are over, I really hope to write at least once a week. Keep me to it, friends!

Yeah...I don't wear makeup. So. The end.

I haven't travelled a lot yet. My goal is to visit all 50 states. However, I've only been to about 10 of them at the most. Lemme see...Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Georgia, New York, Illinois, Ohio...that's all, I think. But out of the US, I've been to Mexico, France, Denmark, and Germany (in both counts I'm only counting places I spent time, not places where I was just in the airport). It's not a lot, so I truly hope to expand it. :)

Day 27: post your favorite recipe. Yeah...I don't really cook hardcore enough to have any recipes. I've been making Paula Deen's gumbo though. It's really good.
Day 28: what are you looking forward to? CHRISTMAS BREAK. Only 4.5 days stand between me and <2 weeks of freedom from these horrible children. I absolutely cannot wait.

I can't say that I have ONE favorite book, because as a kid I read A LOT. I mostly read Babysitters Club books, however. They were my favorites. I was part of the book club and got 3 of them a month, along with a notepad or pencils or something. The books were great too--the girls were just mature enough to teach kids how to act without being preachy or out of reach. I learned a lot from those books. Depending on which one I was reading, I would act and dress like the girls. If I was reading a Mary Anne book, I'd dress all prim and proper and do a lot of reading. If it was Claudia, I'd dress crazy, hide candy in my room, and try to be artistic. I still read them on occasion when I'm at home. I have over 150 of them. :)

If we're talking true DREAM job...I want to be a pop star. And not even for the fame. I love to sing and dance, and those have always been my true passions. Sadly, I do not have the confidence in my abilities to pursue it.

If we're talking something I'd love to do, regardless of the money...radio dj. How fun to just sit all day and listen to music!

But with a reality check, what would really make me happy would be something where I could sit all day and do something mindless, like filing or putting together packets or making copies or whatever. Something that had no real responsibility attached to it. That's the dream right there.

The best thing to happen this year by far has been getting Daisy. She may be a handful and a big responsibility, but she brings out sides in each of us that we never really got to see before. She's a bundle of energy and fun and I just adore her. She's about 9 months old now and 100% chocolate lab. She's super presh.
